Doug Rauch is our 10th Cinderella CEO podcast interview. Soft spoken, and really smart, the former president of Trader Joe’s, and current CEO of Conscious Capitalism, Doug Rauch has also started a project called the Daily Table to bring fresh food to the inner cities. Doug talks about how he fell into the grocery biz, and how to avoid “crapitalism!” We talk about how to excel as an entrepreneur, and why listeners may want to consider becoming “intrapreneurs” as an alternative. Doug discusses capitalism, how it can be a force for good, and why “Conscious Capitalism” caught his attention. (This is a re-edit of the first interview for better audio clarity). Listen to “Interview with Doug Rauch, former President of Trader Joe's” on Spreaker.

In a wildly unpredictable election year, Michael Lyons, character actor in the Netflix series “House of Cards” and I (Cary Broussard), are launching a joint speaking tour to draw parallels between the race for the White House and what we can learn (or unlearn) from the candidates behaviors, branding and game plans. As a former U.S. Senate staffer and communications executive, I knew we couldn’t keep our mouths shut any longer….that we couldn’t let this campaign kick our butts and leave us depleted. So…. we are taking our non-partisan, entertaining opinions and brand lessons “on the road.” With an ever-increasing number of candidate “aha” moments to emulate or avoid, we are leveraging our public speaking experience, and experiences working with all sorts of people and media (yes, media are people too) to dissect candidates’ brand […]
Doug Rauch, the former president of Trader Joe’s, now the CEO of the non-profit, Conscious Capitalism, sat down with Cinderella CEO On Air in Chicago to record a fascinating interview. Busy leading the National Conscious Capitalism movement, he shares his story of how he started with Trader Joe’s, and how he helped grow the grocery store chain. He gives advice on how to avoid “crapitalism,” how to excel as an entrepreneur, and why listeners may want to consider becoming intrapreneurs within a company. And of course, he talks about Conscious Capitalism and how practicing its tenets are key to a company’s success, and ideally making capitalism […]

Getting to know Millennials is a priority for most, whether you’re in business, academics or parenting – just to name a few professions. I’ve been pleasantly surprised and challenged by this generation that represents a group of 80 million, according to the 2/24/2015 NPR story “The New Boom,” responsible for $1 trillion in spending a year.
