Can we agree on one thing? The economy sucks. I’m asking you – business people of the United States. What are we going to do? Where are the town meetings? The massive education re-tooling we need? Where is the commaraderie and the collaboration? Where is the plan or solution(s) to turn our economy around in the U.S.? I just heard a statistic on Bill Maher that most Americans cannot scrape $2000 together without selling items they own. I’m not sure of the number of people with storage units, filled with stuff, in the U.S., but pretty sure the number is astounding. A fact I’m not too proud of is that I have stuff stored in Texas and N.J. I’m not a bad person, but I have been comfortably spoiled… While watching the first U.S. Republican Debate of the year, there were some good ideas being bantered around, and some ideas I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole. We are a self-centered generation , but we CAN snap out of it. It’s going to take everyday people (all of us) to collaborate and come up with the ideas (non-partisan) to chisel us into the next “great generation.” Our parents and grandparents, aunts, uncles and generations before us have lived through good times and hellish ones. The 1930’s depression in particular instilled survival skills in most of our parents that have trickled down to many of the boomer generation….I, for one at least, have suffered a bad case of amnesia….as my mother used to say…the bird has come home to roost.
